Chinese dumplings

Wide-ranging Chinese dumplings made with tried and tested techniques refined since its release in 1927

The founder and his wife arranged the taste of baozi (a type of Chinese dumpling comprising a soft and fluffy steamed bun filled with savory or sweet fillings), which they first came across during a visit to China, to best suit the Japanese palate. The result was the “Tenka-ippin Shina Manju” (a Japanese snack steamed bun, filled with sweet red bean paste) released in 1927.

Nakamuraya’s Chinese dumpling features flavorful and robust drapery using original yeast and ingredients carefully prepared by our restaurant, using sophisticated techniques. Focusing on buns containing meat and red-bean paste in particular, we distribute pizza buns, curry buns and various other Chinese dumpling varieties via supermarkets and convenience stores.

Our supermarket products feature individually packaged items, so that customers can easily warm them up in the microwave. Our tasty Chinese dumplings can be enjoyed in a number of ways.

Food products

Disseminating the authentic taste unleashed by Nakamuraya’s cooking technique

We started the full-scale distribution of our products via supermarkets and convenience stores scale in 2001, so that as many customers as possible could enjoy the taste of Nakamuraya.

As well as the retort Indian Curry series that originated from the pure Indian curry invented by Rash Behari Bose, an Indian revolutionary leader in 1927, our restaurant cooks and prepares various other authentic-tasting dishes, such as Chinese sauce centered on mapo tofu and Western cuisine. We also handle commercial ingredients and strive to develop products that meet our customers’ needs.

Sweets

Nakamuraya’s sweets date back all the way to 1909. An elaborate taste using carefully selected ingredients

In 1909, Nakamuraya started producing and distributing Japanese confectionery, considering it necessary to “carefully select ingredients and distribute products affordably.” Generations later, our mission remains unchanged.

We offer baked sweets, mizu yokan (soft red-bean agar) and jellies for customers or as gifts according to demand during summer seasons. Our products are mainly distributed via supermarkets and we also have distribution channels for gift products at stations and airports.

Directly managed stores (restaurants)

Ever since our restaurant opened in 1927, we have delivered elaborate cuisine and refined our cooking techniques.

In 1927, the Nakamuraya bakery established a restaurant division at the Shinjuku Head Office. Ever since, we have delivered elaborate cuisines and products in our restaurant, utilizing cooking techniques refined and passed down from Head Office. Nowadays, we run a directly managed restaurant in Shinjuku Nakamuraya Building as well as Olive House, which serves pasta, hamburgers, gratin and other Western cuisines.
